Auri Sculpture Unpainted by joanniegoulet Auri Sculpture Unpainted by joanniegoulet
FINALLY! This one took forever to do and I had to redo every part like five times because it kept collapsing due to poor structure or plain clumsiness. DX I started it before Christmas and just finished it tonight.

So I know it's far from perfect but I'm really happy with how it turned out. It's my first large polymer clay sculpture and my first time working with an armature.

Character is Auri, my gryphoness. [link]
Media: Polymer clay (Original Sculpey), aluminium foil, metal wire and taxidermy glass eyes

Comments and critics are loved!

Excellent work on that one dude! 8D
I love how the fur on the backside of the forepaw turned out x3
Also I think you did a phenomenal work on the wings! 8D

I´m going to sculp my very first armature-griffon soon, too, I just hope it will be as half as good as yours :dummy:

What do you use to make the eyes?
Really good work, especially with wings.

I love it. Will you be painting it? It would be so cool if you would make a molded copy of this, I would SO buy one.

This is your first one? You could have fooled me!@

This is brilliant, especially while using sculpey original. The color is pretty, but I was never able to get used to its texture. I'd be interested in hearing how you beat that stuff into submission.

Hehehe, thank you!

I guess that the fact that I've never worked with anything else beside old Fimo helped a lot to get used to it! When I needed a softer texture I would just mix some mineral oil with the clay. It don't take much to make it very soft. :)

Thank you! I'm sending you a private message for the glass eyes. As for the texture, I used these tools: [link] I mostly used the one that look like a dentist tool for the fur and feathers.
